Alisha identifies as she/her, cisgender, BIPOC with top values of: Courage, Growth and Harmony. She is inspired by both the professional community and her own tribe of people who have supported her throughout her social work journey over her 12 years in the field. Alisha has a passion for teaching and facilitation fostered by her mentors, education and lived experiences.
Alisha is a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with a Master in Social Work (MSW) and Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from the University of Calgary, Social Work Diploma from Mount Royal University and Certification as a Daring Way Facilitator (CDWF). Alisha brings both clinical and leadership experience working with individuals, couples, and groups from diverse backgrounds through various clinical roles including the Eastside Family Centre, Alberta Health Services, Alberta Justice & Solicitor General and medical social work roles.
She brings leadership experience through her corporate experience in program management, Directorship in private practice and current consulting company named Lumens Courage Consulting (@lumensyyc), along with, her current role at Catholic Family Service as a Supervisor of the Counselling Division leading a project in collaboration with Calgary Homeless Foundation and CUPS called Rapid Care Counselling. She is also an Instructor at the University of Calgary in the Faculty of Social Work. Whichever arena or hat she is wearing she strives to show up authentically and wholeheartedly.
